Air National Guard Week 9 Team of the Week Nominees:

Ashland - What an incredible turnaround season it has been for the Oredockers, who not only have qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2009, but with a 28-12 win over Medford in Week 9, the team clinched an outright Great Northern Conference title. The running game racked up more than 300 yards in the victory, as both Justin Miller and Jordan Brennan went over the century mark.

Baraboo - Despite accumulating just 165 yards of offense and turning the ball over four times, Baraboo somehow found a way to win Friday night. It was a huge victory for a number of reasons. First, it got the Thunderbirds into the playoffs for the first time since 2006. Secondly, the 14-12 decision came against rival Reedsburg in the 131st meeting between the teams, the most played rivalry in state history. Baraboo now holds a 63-62-6 edge in the series all-time.

Chippewa Falls - Chippewa Falls needed to win just to get on the playoff bubble, but the Cardinals faced a tough test against a Hudson team playing for a share of the Big Rivers title. ChiHi rose to the challenge, scoring a 17-7 win, with the lone Hudson score coming midway through the fourth quarter. Matt Pomietlo had yet another big game, rushing 19 times for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns for head coach Chuck Raykovich. The win helped Chippewa Falls qualify for the playoffs as one of the last few teams in.

Kaukauna - The Galloping Ghosts secured their first playoff appearance since 2008 with a 33-7 win over Appleton West on Friday night. Noah Van Asten threw for more than 200 yards with two touchdowns, both to Mason Van Zeeland, who finished with 5 catches for 124 yards. Bryson Alsteen went over 100 yards on the ground with a pair of scores as well.

Lake Country Lutheran - The Lightning clinched a fifth straight unbeaten Midwest Classic Conference title with a 41-7 victory over Saint Francis, who also entered the game undefeated. Lake Country Lutheran took advantage of three first half turnovers by Saint Francis to build a 21-0 advantage at the break, which helped them overcome three interceptions of their own. The Lightning out-gained the Mariners 445 to 239 in the game.
