Jared Schneider of Homestead has been selected as the Week 9 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the team clinch an outright North Shore Conference title, the 18th straight season the Highlanders have won at least a share of the crown. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 9. A total of 2,279 votes were cast, as Schneider's 838 were enough to edge second place Jordan Bishop of Monona Grove, who tallied 480 votes.

The Highlanders wrapped up and unbeaten regular season and outright North Shore Conference title, their 18th straight year with at least a share of the conference crown. Ini a 35-14 win over second-place Slinger, Schneider had two 90+ yard touchdowns in the third quarter. The first came on a 92-yard return on the opening kickoff, and he later added a 95-yard touchdown catch. He also ran for a touchdown in the first half. Schneider finished with 314 total yards (109 receiving, 93 rushing, 112 return).

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 1 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
