Bryce Edwards has been selected as the AAA Level 2 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the team claim a second straight road victory in the playoffs. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 2. A total of 5,591 votes were cast, as Edwards' 1,974 were enough to edge second place Drew Hennessey of Highland, who tallied 1,185 votes.

As a number seven seed, Sparta is the lowest-seeded team still remaining in the WIAA playoffs, and Edwards helped ensure the Spartans stayed alive in a 33-14 road win over New Richmond. He rushed 17 times for 291 yards and two touchdowns, adding 10 tackles, a sack, and two pass break-ups as the Spartans rushed for more than 500 yards as a team and limited New Richmond to just 30 rushing yards.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named AAA Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
