The Sevastopol Pioneers have been selected as the Level 2 Air National Guard Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team avenged an earlier loss this year to advance to the first-ever 8-Player title game. The Pioneers were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 2. A total of 8,406 votes were cast, as Sevastopol's 3,791 votes edged Reedsville's 3,522 votes.

The Pioneers lost just one game during the regular season, a 26-6 defeat against Newman Catholic. Both teams made the first-ever 8-Player Football tournament, and Sevastopol got a shot at avenging that lone loss in the state semi-finals, and they didn't waste their chance. Sevastopol claimed its eighth straight win overall, beating Newman Catholic 50-28. The Pioneers advance to the first 8-Player championship game in state history, as they'll take on unbeaten Luck at Stanley-Boyd High School on Saturday at 1 pm.
