Lake Superior Girls Basketball Preview

2017-18 Recap: 

Superior went 10-13 overall. The Spartans season ended with a 53-36 loss to Appleton East in a Division 1 regional semifinal. Ashland posted a 6-18 overall record. The Oredockers season fell to Rice Lake, 57-33, in a Division 2 regional semifinal.

Players to Watch: 

Chloe Kintop, sr., Superior -- Averaging 5.6 points per game, Kintop took home honorable mention all-conference as a junior. 

Maddy Myer, sr., Superior -- Myer averaged 9.8 points per game and earned honorable mention all-LSC as a junior. 

Zoe Pearce, jr., Ashland -- Pearce averaged 4 points per game as a sophomore for the Oredockers. 

Madelyn Wiggins, sr., Ashland -- Wiggins averaged 5 points per game for the Oredockers as a junior. 

Niya Wilson, jr., Superior -- As a sophomore, Wilson averaged 11 points per game and earned honorable mention all-league for the Spartans. 

2018-19 Team Previews: 

Superior went 10-13 overall in 2017-18. The Spartans' top returners are junior Niya Wilson and senior Madisen Myer who averaged 11 and 9.8 points per game, respectively, last season. Other key returners include seniors Chloe Kintop (5.6 ppg), Lauren Raboin (5-11, 5.3 ppg) and Emily Hunter (5-11). Superior opens the season at Ashland on November 20. 

Ashland posted a 6-18 overall record last season. Top returners for the Oredockers are senior Madelyn Wiggins (5 ppg) and junior Zoe Pearce. Other notable returners are Lily Jablonski (jr.) and Elena Brinker (sr.).
