WSN 8-Player FOOTBALL AWARDS

The WSN 8-Player Football Awards were launched in 2016 to recognize the outstanding players participating in reduced player football. Awards presented will be Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. All players are eligible regardless of grade level.

Each year, a preseason Watch List will be produced, then narrowed down to five finalists to be announced after the first week of playoff games. Winners will be announced the week following the 8-Player State Championship.

These awards are not associated with any conference nor the WFCA awards, and are presented independently by WisSports.net.

Defensive Player of the Year: Jeremy Jorns, Sevastopol

Jeremy Jorns of Sevastopol has been selected as the 2018 8-Player Football Defensive Player of the Year by WisSports.net.

Jorns is a repeat finalist for the WSN 8-Man Defensive Player of the Year award. He's also a repeat selection as the MONLPC-8 Defensive Player of the Year after recording 142 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, and an interception this season

A big reason that the Pioneers claimed the first-ever WIAA 8-Player Football State Championship, Jorns was incredible in the title game. Playing both ways for Sevastopol, he record 25 tackles, including 11 solo stops. Jorns forced a fumble and recovered two as the Pioneers rallied to beat Luck, 38-30.

Jorns was recently named as a Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-State selection.

Other finalists for the award included Hunter Bruhn of Phillips, Levi Jensen of Luck, Max Krohn of Sevastopol, and Carter Lawrence of Shell Lake.
