Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll 

Division 1

Milwaukee King is the top-ranked team in the first WSN Coaches Poll of the Season. The Generals are 3-0 on the season, which includes wins over WisSports.net Preseason No. 1 Mukwonago, 59-58, at the Brookfield Central Thanksgiving Shootout and Arrowhead, 51-33, at the Fresh Coast Classic. The aforementioned Mukwonago is No. 2 in the first coaches poll. Third-ranked Kimberly rolled past Pius XI in its only game so far this season. The Papermakers will face No. 10 Appleton West tonight in a FVA matchup. Madison Memorial is 4-0 to start the season and is ranked No. 4 in the coaches poll. Bay Port, ranked No. 6, opened the season with a 66-56 win over Luxemburg-Casco. Germantown checks in a No. 6 after wins over Kettle Moraine Lutheran, 72-47, and Oak Creek, 67-54, to start the season. The rest of the top 10 features De Pere, Oak Creek, Appleton East and Appleton West. 

Division 2

Two-time defending Division 2 state champion Beaver Dam sits atop the rankings. The Golden Beavers host DeForest on Thursday in Badger-North action. Monroe, who has reached state in each of the past two seasons, is ranked No. 2 in the first coaches poll. Green Bay Southwest is No. 3 and New Berlin Eisenhower, who lost to a talented Montini Catholic (IL) squad at the Brookfield Central Thanksgiving Shootout, is No. 4 and are followed in the rankings by Slinger. Sixth-ranked Pewaukee defeated Stevens Point, 76-69, at the Brookfield Central Thanksgiving Shootout to move to 3-0 on the season. The Pirates host D1 No. 6 Germantown tonight in a non-conference matchup. The rest of the top 10 features Hortonville, Pius XI Catholic, Onalaska and Luxemburg-Casco. 

Division 3

Defending state champion Marshall is the top-ranked team in the D3 WSN Coaches Poll. The Cardinals opened the season with a 50-42 win over Lake Mills last Tuesday. Laconia, who lost just one game last season, is No. 2 and are followed by state runner-up Amherst. Laconia travels to Amherst tonight in a non-conference contest. Platteville, Wrightstown and state qualifier Wisconsin Dells are in spots four through six. The rest of the top 10 is Lodi, Freedom and Martin Luther. 

Division 4

Defending state champion Aquinas leads the way in the Division 4 WSN Coaches Poll. Melrose-Mindoro, the state runner-up last season, is right behind at No. 2. Third-ranked Colfax defeated D1 school Hudson last week. Durand and Mishicot are also in the top five. Racine Lutheran is No. 6 and Milwaukee Academy of Science, who went 1-1 at the Brookfield Central Thanksgiving Shootout, is No. 7 in the first coaches poll. Eighth-ranked Oostburg, like Mishicot defeated state qualifier Manitowoc Lutheran last week. Crandon, a state qualifier last season, checks in at No. 9. The Cardinals lost to D2 school Pulaski last week. Colby rounds out the top 10 in the first coaches poll of the season. 

Divison 5

Black Hawk, last year's state runner-up, is the top-ranked team in the opening coaches poll. Clayton, who has reached state in each of the past three seasons, is No. 2 to start the year. Newman Catholic, a state qualifier last season, is No. 3 and are followed by Marawood-South foe Assumption in the rankings. Spots five through seven are Argyle, Fall River and Randolph. The rest of the coaches poll features River Ridge, Clear Lake and Prentice.
