Madison Memorial junior Leilani Kapinus has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week for the week of November 19 through 25 after a vote on WSN.

There was a total of 5,979 votes cast this week. Leilani finished with 2,031 votes. Milwaukee King's Kaye Clark finished second with a total of 1,723 votes.

Leilani has helped lead the fifth ranked Madison Memorial girls basketball team to an early 4-0 start to the 2018-19 season. In three games this past week, Kapinus averaged over 20 points a game as Madison Memorial picked up an early week win over Madison La Follette. The Spartans then took two more over White Bear Lake and St. Paul Central in the Pat Peterson Tournament at Hamline University.

Leilani has multiple division 1 offers from all across the country. She will look to lead Madison Memorial to a fifth straight win Friday as the Spartans take on Madison East.
