Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll 

Division 1

The majority of the top 10 of the WSN Coaches Poll is the same as last week. Milwaukee King remains the top-ranked team despite being routed by Maine West, Ill. on Saturday at the Chicagoland Showcase. The Generals travel to No. 8 Oak Creek tonight. Third-ranked Kimberly hosts D2 No. 4 Hortonville tonight in an FVA contest, both teams enter the contest 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league play. Fourth-ranked Madison Memorial travels to Middleton on Thursday in a Big Eight contest. Memorial is still awaiting the results from junior standout Leilani Kapinus' MRI results after suffering a knee injury on Friday. Bay Port, ranked No. 5, travels to Notre Dame tonight in FRCC action. Seventh-ranked De Pere earned a big win over Green Bay Southwest, ranked No. 5 in D2, on Friday. Brookfield Central joins the top 10 this week. The Lancers battled No. 6 Germantown on Friday before falling, 66-57. 

Division 2

Top-ranked Beaver Dam moved to 4-0 on the season after defeating Benet Academy, Ill., 51-41, in a match-up of nationally ranked teams at the Chicagoland Showcase on Saturday. Beaver Dam was No. 12 and Benet was No. 15 in the MaxPreps.com Top 25. Monroe remains No. 2 in the coaches poll despite losing to Morton, Ill. on Saturday; the loss was the Cheesemakers' first of the season. New Berlin Eisenhower moved up one spot to No. 3 this week; the Lions host No. 6 Pius XI Catholic in a Woodland-West contest tonight. Hortonville jumps three spots to No. 4 this week, as mentioned in the Division 1 portion, the Polar Bears play D1 No. 3 Kimberly. Green Bay Southwest dropped to No. 5 this week after falling to D1 No. 7 De Pere on Friday; the Trojans will will try to get back on track tonight when they host Green Bay Preble. Luxemburg-Casco, ranked No. 8, hosts D3 No. 9 Freedom tonight in North Eastern play. Whitefish Bay joins the coaches poll this week after defeating Slinger last week, the Owls drop to No. 9 this week. 

Division 3

Top-ranked Marshall has a Capitol crossover contest against No. 10 Lodi on Friday; the Cardinals edged the Blue Devils in a D3 regional final last season. Laconia, ranked No. 2, defeated third-ranked Amherst last week in double overtime, 55-47. Laconia travels to St. Mary's Springs on Thursday in Flyway action. Amherst hosts Shiocton in CWC-East play tonight. Platteville, ranked No. 5, dropped a 42-39 contest against D5 No. 1 Black Hawk last night. The Hillmen host Richland Center in SWC play on Thursday. Martin Luther moves up two spots to No. 8 this week. 

Division 4

Aquinas and Melrose-Mindoro remain the top two teams in the Division 4 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. Durand jumps Dunn St. Croix foe Colfax for the No. 3 spot. Mishicot, ranked No. 5, hosts fellow unbeaten Howards Grove tonight in Big East play. Seventh-ranked Milwaukee Academy of Science, who features Marquette recruit Shemera Williams, hosts Monona Grove, who features Iowa recruit McKenna Warnock, on Saturday. Colby, ranked No. 9, travels to Gilman tonight in Cloverbelt-East action. 

Division 5

Top-ranked Black Hawk edged D3 No. 5 Platteville last night, 42-39. Clayton is right behind at No. 2 in the coaches poll. Assumption jumps Marawood-South foe Newman Catholic for the No. 3 spot in the coaches poll. Assumption has contests against Edgar and Neillsville this week, and Newman Catholic travels to Stratford tonight. No. 5 Argyle hosts top-ranked Black Hawk on Thursday. Kickapoo and Oneida Nation join the coaches poll this week.
