Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of December 3-9. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Dec. 3-9

Ava Douglas, Reedsburg girls basketball: Douglas has helped lead the Reedsburg Beavers to a hot start to the 2018-19 basketball season. In a 59-48 win over Baraboo, Ava shot 9 of 14 from the field en route to 21 points. She also added 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the Badger-North Rivalry game. In a 54-52 tight win over DeForest, Douglas had 16 points and 4 assists to lead the Beavers.

Caroline Strande, Racine Lutheran girls basketball: Caroline had quite the week for the division 4, sixth-ranked Crusaders. It started in a 56-27 win over Catholic Central where Strande had 23 points on 10 of 17 shooting. She then came 2 assists and 1 steal short of a quadruple-double in a 79-28 win over Living Word Lutheran. She had 30 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 9 steals. Caroline also became the school leader in career points in the incredible performance. She wasn't done there, as she then poured in 36 points and 11 rebounds in an 83-64 victory over Shoreland Lutheran.

Shane Liegel, River Valley wrestling: Liegel is looking for his third straight state championship this year for the River Valley Blackhawks. He took a great step forward this past weekend in Sun Prairie's Bob Downing Scramble Invite. Shane took first place at 182 pounds for the second consecutive year at the early season tournament. He was named the Most Valuable Wrestler of 23-team scramble.

AJ Vukovich, East Troy boys basketball: Vukovich had a stellar week for East Troy as he led the team to three straight victories. He began by notching 24 points in a 101-67 victory over Big Foot. He then had 24 points in a 52-51 win over Milwaukee Madison. AJ saved his best performance for last as he had a game high 38 points in an 82-68 win over highly ranked Milwaukee Academy of Science. In the win over MAOS, Vukovich eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in his prep career at East Troy.

Dalton Banks, Eau Claire North boys basketball: Banks was incredible on the court for Eau Claire North in two games this past week, almost recording triple-doubles in both wins. He had 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists in a 62-39 win over Big Rivers foe, River Falls. Dalton then had 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists in a 79-55 win over D.C. Everest. Banks is currently leading the Big Rivers in scoring at 30.2 points per game.
