Brookfield Central remains the top-ranked team in the Division 1 Coaches Poll, followed once again by Waukesha West, Sussex Hamilton, and Kimberly. After that, things are quite different from last week, as every team ranked fifth through tenth suffered at least one loss. The only teams to hang in the poll are Brookfield East (fifth to sixth) and Madison Memorial (sixth to tenth). Newcomers this week include high-riser Madison East, who is fifth with a 7-0 record, as well as Homestead, Eau Claire North, and Racine Case.
Nicolet went east to play in a high-level national event over the weekend, splitting a pair of games. The Knights do hold on to the #1 ranking this week, however. La Crosse Central is second, while Milwaukee Washington, Green Bay Southwest, and Kaukauna make up the top five again, though the order has shuffled a bit. Monona Grove is the only new team to this week's rankings at #9.
Perhaps no team in the state has played as tough of a schedule as Martin Luther, who has wins over East Troy, Milwaukee Washington, Kenosha St. Joseph, and Racine St. Catherine's this season. As a result, the Spartans have edged out Waupun for the top spot in Division 3. Brown Deer (previously #4), Prescott (#5), and Mauston (#10) drop out of the rankings this week after losses. New teams in the rankings this week are Lake Country Lutheran, Dominican, and Saint Francis.
New Glarus remains the top team in Division 4, but there are quite a few changes everywhere else in the rankings. Mineral Point, previously second, and Milwaukee Academy of Science, previously third, both suffered their second losses of the year last week and drop several spots. Roncalli is the new #2, while impressive offensive numbers by Lourdes Academy have the Knights unbeaten and up to third. Darlington is one of three teams from the SWAL in the rankings this week, and the highest at #6.
Sheboygan Lutheran continues to hold down the top spot in the Division 5 Coaches Poll, as Columbus Catholic, Bangor, and Potosi are right behind. Hustisford moves into the top five, while new teams this week are Randolph, Pecatonica, and Southwestern.
