Each week WSN will take a look at the happenings in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference, which includes many of the two-year campuses in the UW system. A look back at the big performances and news from the week before, a look ahead to some of the big games coming up, plus a Player of the Week will be featured.

Looking Back

There were two games last Wednesday pitting WCC teams against each other, though both were technically non-conference contests, along with a pair of out-of-league games on Friday for Wisconsin Collegiate Conference squads.

On Wednesday, Marinette went out early on Fond du Lac before cruising home for a 73-61 victory. The Buccaneers sport the best overall record in the conference heading into the holiday break at 5-1.

The only other team currently above .500 overall is Marathon, who had no problems with Barron on Wednesday in an 85-22 victory. Only five players scored for Marathon, who got 28 points from Chelsey Gliniecki (Stratford High School) and 22 from Alexandria McKibben (Edgar).

WCC teams didn't fare too well on Friday, as Richland was knocked off by Madison College, 76-37, and Fond du Lac fell to the Lakeland JV squad, 50-40.

Looking Ahead

Wisconsin Collegiate Conference teams take a break for the holiday season, returning to action on January 4th.

WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Chelsey Gliniecki, Marathon
