Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of December 31 - January 6. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Dec. 31 - Jan 6

Conner Meyer, Black Hawk boys basketball: Conner had a memorable first week of the 2019 calendar year for the Black Hawk basketball team. In a 79-41 win over Juda, Conner had a game high 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 steals to lead his team to victory. In doing so, Meyer became the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,415 points. Conner broke a 30-plus year record that had been held by his father, Craig Meyer.

Riley Murphy, Seymour boys basketball: Riley helped the Seymour boys basketball do something that hadn't been done in 34 games, give a conference loss to Xavier. Riley had 24 points in the 76-73 overtime thriller over Xavier, ending a 34-game Bay Conference winning streak. In order to get the game to overtime, Riley hit a pair of late game threes to force the extra period.

Nicolar Rivera, Stoughton wrestling: Nicolar is having an absolutely phenomenal freshman season for Stoughton wrestling who came into the weekend ranked in the top 50 nationally by InterMat. At the Cheesehead Wrestling Invitational over the weekend, Rivera improved to 31-0 on the season as he took first place in the 106 weight class. Nicolar, who is ranked sixth nationally by InterMat, beat Auroroa Christian's (IL) Joel Mylin in 1:04 in the championship bout. Nicolar recorded five pins and a technical fall as he was the only Wisconsin wrestler to go undefeated at the invite.

Ellie Clements, Whitefish Bay girls basketball: Ellie continued her success on the court from last year into the new 2019 year and set a milestone along the way. In a 55-37 win over New Berlin West, she had 25 points and 10 rebounds. She followed that up with 18 points and 9 rebounds in a 63-45 win over Nicolet. In the win over Nicolet, Ellie crossed the 1,000th point in her career at Whitefish Bay. She is currently averaging over 21 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Madelyn Granica, Amery girls basketball: Madelyn, like the previous four nominees, started off 2019 with quite the bang. In a 64-48 win over Somerset, she scored a game high 28 points. In doing so, Madelyn became Amery's all-time leading scorer with 1,559 points. The week before Christmas, Madelyn also became the school's all-time leading rebounder.
