Week 1 WisSports.net Boys Basketball Coaches Poll
After a couple weeks of significant turnover, it is all calm in the Division 1 Coaches Poll this week, with no ranked teams suffering defeat. Madison East remains a strong number one and the only remaining unbeaten team. The rest of the top five includes Brookfield Central, Sussex Hamilton, Kimberly, and Arrohwead.
Like D1, the Division 2 Coaches Poll has quite a bit of stability, especially at the top. Nicolet remains number one, with unbeaten Green Bay Southwest a close number two. New teams this week are Mount Horeb and Plymouth, replacing West Bend East and Milwaukee Madison.
Martin Luther remains the top team in the WisSports.net Division 3 Coaches Poll, easily ahead of second place Waupun. Lake Country Lutheran suffered its first loss of the year, a defeat against Brookfield Academy at Fiserv Forum on Monday, and dropped out of the top five, to seventh. Southern Door is the only new team in this week's poll, winners of nine straight since dropping a pair of non-conference game to Oostburg and Roncalli to begin the season.
Roncalli has solidified its hold on the number one position in Division 4, with fellow unbeaten Darlington not far behind. New Glarus fell to Mineral Point in a highly-anticipated showdown Monday night, and it dropped the Glarner Knights from third to seventh, one spot behind Mineral Point. Fennimore makes it three teams from the SWAL in this week's rankings, with Cuba City just outside the top ten and receiving votes.
Sheboygan Lutheran has a sizable lead in the Division 5 rankings again this week, as the Crusaders remain unbeaten. The top four teams are unblemished, in fact, as Sheboygan Lutheran is followed by Columbus Catholic, Hustisford, and Randolph. Other than some minor shuffling, there are no other changes in the top ten.
