Looking Back

There were just three games in the WCC in the past week, and Waukesha was involved in two of them. On Thursday, the Cougars went down in a tough one to the Wisconsin Lutheran JV squad, 61-52. Aleah Heron (Milwaukee King) had a game-high 27 points in that one.

Heron was even better on Saturday as Waukesha blasted Marshfield 78-30. The 5'4" first-year player had a quadruple-double with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals. Alexis Stone (Milwaukee Career & Tech. Ed.) and Ariel Gonzales (Milwaukee Lutheran) also posed double-doubles in the victory.

The only other contest on the schedule was Saturday's non-conference game between Marinette and Bay College. Full stats information is not available, but Bay College cruised to a 69-34 victory, though Marinette remains atop the WCC with a perfect 3-0 league mark.

Looking Ahead

The regular season is beginning to wind down, with just a couple weeks remaining in the 2018-19 campaign.

There are four games on the schedule tonight, though just two of them are conference contests. Barron makes the trip to take on Marshfield, as both teams are searching for their first win of the season. Waukesha welcomes in Washington as both are hoping to keep pace in the WCC, currently one game behind league-leading Marinette.

Waukesha has another big game on Saturday, as the Cougars host Fond du Lac, who is unbeaten in league play. Fondy topped Waukesha 64-48 back in first semester and recently beat Marathon impressively as well.

Next Monday, Marinette hosts Bay College and Fond du Lac travels to Wisconsin Lutheran in a couple non-conference match-ups.

WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Aleah Herron, Waukesha

Waukesha' Aleah Herron (Milwaukee King) had 27 points in the team's loss to Wisconsin Lutheran JV on Thursday last week. It was just one point off her career high, but she was far from done for the week. In a dominating victory over Marshfield on Saturday, Herron posted a quadruple-double with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals. She set career highs in the game for rebounds, assists, and steals.
