The weather is cold, the snow is coming, but the final 30 seconds of Monday night's Kickapoo versus Hillsboro non-conference game was red-hot.
Owen Cauffman of Kickapoo hit a three-pointer with about 20 seconds remaining to tie the score at 59.
Hillsboro took its time on the other end, working the ball to Trent Thorson on the baseline. After a pump fake, he hit a 10-foot leaner with less than three seconds remaining to put the Tigers on top.
Things weren't quite done yet, as Kickapoo senior Wyley Wagner took the in-bounds, turned, and hurled up a shot from just past his own free throw line, beating the buzzer as the shot banked off the backboard and in to give the Panthers an improbable 62-61 victory.
Video below, which documents the last 30 seconds roughly, provided by Kickapoo High School Athletic Director Kent Petersen.
