WCC Women's Basketball Weekly Roundup: February 13th, 2019

Each week WSN will take a look at the happenings in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference, which includes many of the two-year campuses in the UW system. A look back at the big performances and news from the week before, a look ahead to some of the big games coming up, plus a Player of the Week will be featured.

Looking Back

Fond du Lac secured an outright regular season championship with a dominating 76-17 victory over Barron on Saturday. The Falcons shot 58.2% from the field and committed just seven turnovers, as Hailey Rusch led the way with 20 points. 

Marinette had no problems with Washington to end up second in the WCC. The Buccaneers scored a 92-45 victory, with six players reaching double-digits.

In the only other game last week, Marathon dropped a tough to Gogebic Community College (MI), as the Huskies were outscored 30-14 in the fourth quarter to fall 68-62. Patience Pyan led the team with 22 points, while Amber Krause (10 points, 18 rebounds) and Alexandria McKibben (11, 15) each had a double-double.

WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Hailey Rusch, Fond du Lac

Rusch takes home her third WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor this season, leading the Falcons with 20 points as the team secured an outright league regular season league championship. Rusch also added six rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the 76-17 victory over Barron.
