UW-Waukesha came away with a pair of victories over the weekend to capture the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference State Championship, which was played at JustAGame in Wisconsin Dells.

Saturday, in a 62-54 semi-final win over UW-Marathon, Waukesha was led in scoring by three different players in double figures. Jayden Hardy (Nicolet) led the team with 18 points while teammates Jeremy Ninham (Nicolet) and Jake Antczak (Mukwonago) had 13 and 11 points respectively.

Sunday in the championship game, Hardy scored a game high 23 points to lead Waukesha to a 63-51 championship win over UW-Sheboygan. Sheboygan beat edged by UW-Baraboo 64-59 in the other semi-final matchup.

Early on, it appeared UW-Sheboygan might bring home a championship as Steve Sokolowski (Sheboygan North) and Dylan Martens (Sheboygan South) combined for 18 points in the paint in the first half. Sheboygan went into the halftime with a 30-29 lead.

As the second half began, the defensive pressure and outside shooting from UW-Waukesha became too much. After going the first half scoreless, Ninham scored 12 points in the second half for UW-Waukesha. Waukesha connected on 6 of 11 shots from beyond the arc and held Sheboygan to 28% shooting.

Hardy finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds for Waukesha. Sheboygan was led in scoring by Oscar Morales (Sheboygan North) with 15, while Dylan Martens finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Steve Sokolowski finished with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

The WCC announced the All-Tournament Team at the completion of the event:
