Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of February 18 through 24. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Feb. 18-24

Michael Casper, Merrill boys basketball: Michael helped the Merrill boys basketball team do something it hasn't done in the history of its school, capture a conference championship. In a 53-51 win over Wisconsin Valley Conference foe Stevens Point, Michael had 26 points. He then had 21 points in a 67-43 win over Wausau East. Michael's 20 point scoring outputs helped Merrill to its first conference championship in school history, breaking a 97 year drought.

Brock Schlough, Boyceville wrestling: Brock was chasing history as he entered the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament this past weekend. He was looking to become a four-time state champion. In a quarterfinal matchup with Stratford's Derek Marten, he won 13-4 in a major decision. He then faced off with second ranked Aiden Vandenbush of Random Lake 5-4 in the semi-final match. Brock faced off with Princeton's Guenther Hebbe in the finals match of the Division 3 152-pound state finals. Brock won by major decision with a 11-3 score to become the seventeenth four-time champion in state history.

Max Meewsen, Bay Port wrestling -- Max began wrestling a little over a year ago as a sophomore at Bay Port. Fast forward to now and he is the Division 1, 285 pound state champion. He pinned top ranked and UW-Madison football recruit Keanu Benton of Janesville Craig at 2 minutes 18 seconds in the second round.

Makaylee Kuhn, Hilbert girls basketball: Makaylee was incredible as Hilbert won three straight games to capture a regional championship. In a 68-36 regional quarterfinal win over Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Makaylee had 29 points and 9 rebounds. She then had 30 points and 16 rebound sin a 60-41 regional semifinal win over Living Word Lutheran. Hilbert faced off with #1 seed Gibraltar in the regional final at Gibraltar. Kuhn scored 21 points while hauling in 8 rebounds as Hilbert took home a regional championship with a 48-42 win.

Kameri Meredith, Colfax girls basketball: Kameri has led Colfax to an incredible season and a number 1 seed in the WIAA tournament. Colfax cruised past Glenwood City in a regional semi-final game to set up a regional final matchup with Cameron. Kameri tied a season high with 30 points to lead the Vikings to a 84-59 win to capture the regional championship.
