Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Point Guard Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. 

Grace Crowley, Homestead -- Crowley, a 5-foot-11 Milwaukee recruit, averaged 13.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game (all team highs) for the Highlanders, who finished the season 14-9 overall. She ended her career with 765 points. 

Kadie Deaton, Wausau West -- Deaton, a 5-foot-11 Northern Colorado recruit, is averaging a 19.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 5 assists per game (all team highs) for the Warriors, who are 20-4 entering Saturday's Division 1 sectional final against Kimberly. She currently has 1,112 career points. 

Sydney Hilliard, Monroe -- Hilliard, a 6-foot Wisconsin recruit, is averaging 20.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.9 steals per game (all team highs) for the Cheesemakers, who are 19-6 entering Saturday's Division 2 sectional final against Milton. She currently has 1,912 career points and has led Monroe to the state tournament in each of the past two seasons. 

Julia Hintz, New Berlin Eisenhower -- Hintz, a 5-foot-8 Cleveland State recruit, scored a team-high 16.4 points per game with 57 three-pointers. She also led the team with 4.5 assists and 2.9 steals per contest. Hintz finished her high school career with 1,373 points and two trips to the state tournament; state champions in 2016 and state runner-up last season. 

Paige Schumann, Beaver Dam -- Schumann, a 5-foot-6 Eastern Illinois recruit, is averaging 7.1 points and a team-high 5.2 assists per game for the two-time defending Division 2 state champions. She is part of a senior class that has lost just two in-state games, both came in her freshman year, against Bay Port and Saturday's sectional final opponent Notre Dame. Schumann has 745 career points entering Saturday.
