Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Post Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and six finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. 

Alissa Dins, Laconia -- Dins, a 6-foot-1 Western Illinois recruit, is averaging 10.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3 steals and 1.7 blocks per game for the undefeated Spartans. She enters Saturday's Division 3 sectional final against Milwaukee School of Languages with 798 career points. 

Sydnee Roby, Milwaukee King -- Roby, a 6-foot-3 Miami recruit, is averaging 14.7 points, 9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game for the Generals, 21-3, who have not lost to an in-state opponent this season. She enters Saturday's showdown against Mukwonago 1,550 career points and over 1,000 career rebounds. Roby led the Generals to a Division 1 state tournament appearance as a sophomore. 

Syd Schultz, Mayville -- Schultz, a 6-foot Portland State recruit, averaged 14.1 points and a state-best 16.2 rebounds per game for the Cardinals, 16-8 overall. Schutlz finished her career with 1,093 points and 1,050 rebounds. 

Aly Van Loo, Beaver Dam -- Van Loo, a 6-foot-3 North Dakota recruit, is averaging 8.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the two-time defending Division 2 state champions. She is part of a senior class that has just two in-state losses, both coming as freshman, to Bay Port and Saturday's sectional final opponent Notre Dame. 

Jen Wendler, Owen-Withee -- Wendler, a 6-foot-2 Youngstown State recruit, averaged 23.2 points, 13 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game for the Blackhawks who finished the year with a 17-6 record. Wendler's career totals include over 1,900 points and 1,000 rebounds. 

Lauren With, Arrowhead -- With, a 6-foot-1 Cal Baptist recruit, is averaging 9.7 points per game for the Warhawks who are 19-6 entering Saturday's showdown against Bay Port in a Division 1 sectional final. With can step out and knock down the three, she has made 26 on the season.
