The annual WSN Basketball Showcase took place on Sunday at Homestead High School with nearly 50 girls competing and nine college coaches in attendance.
Here are observations on players who stood out to me while watching the games:
Top Performers
Noelle Anthon, 6-3, F/C, 2024, Oconomowoc – Anthon continues to grow on the court (didn’t start playing until freshman year). At the WSN Showcase on Sunday, she ran the floor well and showed the ability to score from the perimeter and in the paint to go along with her rebounding. Anthon will take on a larger role this upcoming season for the Raccons after tallying 5.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest as a junior. She holds NCAA Division II offers from Roosevelt University and Upper Iowa University.
Taylor Brigham, 5-11, W, 2025, Sheboygan Lutheran – Brigham earned second-team all-Big East South as a sophomore, averaging 12.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and two steals per game for the 20-6 Crusaders. Taylor has good size and showcased her versatility at the WSN Showcase. She can score from behind the arc and off the bounce, has good court vision, and rebounds well.
Laila Collier-White, 5-6, PG, 2026, Racine St. Catherine’s – Collier-White impressed as a freshman, tallying 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.4 steals per game for the Angels. Her quickness was on display on both ends of the court at the WSN Basketball Showcase.
Ella Hischke, 5-10, W, 2024, Bonduel – A first-team all-CWC East as a junior for the 22-5 Bears, Division 4 sectional qualifiers. Hischke is a skilled wing/guard who plays with a high motor and is a great teammate. Those things were on display at the WSN Showcase, along with her ability to score and rebound.
Natalie Meaux, 5-7, PG, 2024, Franklin – Meaux earned honorable mention Division 1 WBCA all-state pick and first-team all-Southeast as a junior. She averaged 17.5 points per game with 57 three-pointers made while shooting 80 percent from the free throw line and over 47 percent from long range. Meaux’s court vision, scoring, and competitiveness were showcased at Homestead High School on Sunday.
Keona McGee, 5-8, PG, 2024, Dominican – A first-team Division 3 WBCA all-state selection as a junior after averaging 14.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 4.7 steals per game for the 23-3 Knights which reached sectionals. McGee is a strong lead guard who looks to get her teammates involved and is aggressive in taking the ball to the hoop.
Maddie Murphy, 5-8, G, 2024, Aquinas – Murphy helped the Blugolds to a 28-2 record and a Division 4 state runner-up finish last season. She tallied 9.5 points per game with 70 three-pointers while shooting over 35 percent from deep. Murphy showcased her perimeter shooting and moving without the ball at Homestead High School on Sunday.
Presly Samz, 5-7, PG, 2026, Arrowhead – The top standout at the WSN Showcase. Samz, who holds Division I offers, was a key contributor for the 23-5 Warhawks which finished one win away from the Division 1 state tournament. She averaged 6.2 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per game in her debut season. Samz’s athleticism, competitiveness, and high basketball IQ were on display at the WSN Showcase and is primed for a big sophomore season.
