Game Description
Living Word started the first half slow, with the first goal of the 2012 season had by Soph Josh Senkbeil off the assist of older brother Senior Ryan Senkbeil in the 32 minute of play. Living Word's offense exploded with 5 goals being scored in 11 minutes of play. Junior Daniel Axtman completed his first hat trick of the season and Senior Chris Lane scored two goals and assisted with 2 as well. Aaron Wenzel, Joel Komurka and Goalkeeper John Winter also added assists to the Living Word offensive attack. Junior John Winter recorded his first shut-out of the season. I know alot of the returning guys felt they had finished the season on a sour note with the devastating loss at Kettle Moraine Lutheran in the first round of tournament play last season. They were coming into tonight's game focused and ready to play. It definitely showed during the second half. It was great to see the team working on the fundamentals of soccer and accomplishing their goal. A great way to start the season.
