Week started with JV’s win over Deerfield with Jacob Stuebe only needing about 68 pitches with a complete game AT-BOY Jacob. Thursday and Friday did not turn out the way we hoped but did play well enough to win both games but came up one run short in both games. Now as we head to the last week of conference play, we still can come up with two Big Wins.

After a week in which we did not Win games that on paper we should of won, we split with Fall River, not that we did not put up a great effort in both games. In Tuesday’s game we blew a 5 run lead but responded with a 11-5 win. Thursday our effort was there, but a little late in the game. Even with a week where we fell short on our Goals, when we look at the standing we are simply just 2 GAMES OUT OF FIRST. With Johnson Creek this week, we could be right back in the Mix. If we take care of business, I look at the remaining schedule for the current leaders, we are in great position to make a statement to the current leaders in the conference.

Our week started very positive with a Win over Williams Bay with 13 hits with Branden, Cody Kutcher and Taylor going Yard. We came back on Tuesday with a 7-2 Win over Wayland Academy which put us on a 5 game winning streak, then in the game at Wayland Academy we just did not adjust to the weather conditions very well and came away with a 5-2 defeat. But on Friday we bounced back with a Gutty pitching performance from Collin Grudzinski after taking a line-drive to the chest he gave up 3 runs in the second then proceeded to shut down Cambria-Friesland for 4 innings with 0 runs and only 2 hits. Along with a balanced hitting solid defense we cruised to 13-3 win. This week Varsity will get back to a somewhat normal schedule but the JV’s will have a full week.

Well our week started with our First WIN over Living Word Lutheran with Collin Grudzinski pitching 5 solid innings and Peter Maas coming in and getting the save. In this game we started to really put together a solid hitting attack. Then on Thursday, in a game where we really started to have some VERY good at bats, good approaches with 12 hits, and along with Branden Kluge, strong performance on the mound carried us to 6-4 over Deerfield. On Friday, I feel our best game so far this season, and not because we beat Deerfield 10-0, but because we took their pitches deep in counts and were very selective in our hitting approaches. With Peter Maas pitching 6 very solid innings, and our defense MAKING THE ROUTINE PLAYES, WE HAD AN ERROR FREE GAME and we put together a very impressive win. On Saturday we scrimmaged Varsity and JV’s. A very good scrimmage practice for both squads. It allowed the JV’s to get some game experience and learning from some mistakes that

We started conference play and we played well enough to win in 2 of the 3 games. The only game that we really beat ourselves was the Horicon game on Thursday. In the game at home against Horicon we just did not get timely hitting - everything we hit was hard at somebody. Against Williams Bay we fell behind 6 runs early in the game, but battled back with our bats starting to make some noise and making routine plays. As I have said over and over, routine plays help our pitchers out and keeps their pitch count down. At-A Boy goes to Jacob Stuebe - coming in to pitch in his First Varsity game and throwing 3 shutout innings and also getting his first Varsity base hit. Teams will go through spells like we are going through now but we just have to keep playing and hitting the ball like we have and the base hit will follow. We’ve seen better approaches with our hitting - a good example with Cody Kutcher working the pitcher with 6 or more pitches and finally winning the
