RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week: March 21-27

Below are the RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of March 21-27. Voting is open until Thursday at 4 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

RallyAroundUs Athlete of the Week Nominees: Mar. 21-27

Anna Gallagher, Two Rivers girls track and field: Gallagher set a personal record and won two individual events for Two Rivers at the Pam Kjono Invite in Manitowoc this past weekend. She ran the 800 meter in a personal best 2:36.67 en route to winning the event. Gallagher also won the 1,600 meter run in 5:29.88 while also being a part of the 4x400 meter relay that took fifth. Two Rivers finished fourth overall on the girls side.

Madyson Schultz, Black River Falls softball: Black River Falls and Tomah played one of the few softball games in the state this past weekend and Schultz was incredible on the mound. Despite surrendering two runs in the 7-2 victory, the Tiger's ace pitched a complete game no-hitter. Schultz struck out 11 batters and walked five. She also went one of two at the plate with an RBI.

Jacki Szelagowski, Bay Port softball: Bay Port took home a pair of wins in the first week of the season and Szelagowski led the way in the lineup. First in an 11-4 win over Shawano, the senior infielder went three of four with three RBIS and one run scored. Szelagowski followed that up by going one of three with two RBIS and a run scored in a 7-3 win over Kimberly.

Gracie Tallier, Gilman girls track and field: Tallier won a trio of events at the Northern Badger Classic, Small Division Invite at UW-Stout last week. The junior took home a first place finish in the 55-meter dash in 7.63 seconds. She followed that up with a win in the 200 meter race in 27.62 seconds. Tallier finished her day winning the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 8.75 inches. Gilman came in second in the girls division, just one point behind Colby.

T.J. Williams, Racine Horlick boys track and field: Williams came out of the gate hot for Horlick this track season. Last week at the Case Classic Invitational at UW-Parkside, the senior sprinter won a pair of individual races helping Horlick to a seventh place overall finish. Williams took home a first place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.54 seconds. He then won the 200 meter race in 22.74 seconds.
