Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week Nominees: December 5-11

JJ Douglas, Janesville Parker

Janesville Parker is off to its best start in Big 8 Conference play in well over 20 years, going 3-1 early on, and Douglas has been the catalyst. Last week, the Vikings went 2-0 in conference play beginning with a 70-58 win over Madison Memorial. Douglas had 19 points, 15 rebounds and eight steals as Parker beat Memorial for the first time since 2006. Douglas, a highly touted football recruit, then had 24 points and an incredible 32 rebounds as Parker beat Sun Prairie East 59-50.

Charlotte Ferstl, River Valley

Ferstl filled the stat sheet this past week as the River Valley girls basketball team put together back-to-back wins, something that hasn't happened since February of 2021. First in a 60-48 win over Riverdale, the senior forward had 28 points and 23 rebounds. Valley then squared off with SWC rival Richland Center. Ferstl had 11 points and nine rebounds as the Blackhawks won 48-47. The win snapped a 47 game conference losing streak that dated back six years.

Lauryn Goettl, Cadott

The Cadott girls basketball team is off to a hot start, going 7-0 to start the year. Goettl has been lights out for the Hornets. In a 77-27 win over Cornell last week, she had 24 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Goettl followed that up with 20 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and two steals in a 68-26 win over Stanley-Boyd. The 5'9" senior guard finished her week with 29 points, five rebounds and three steals in a 60-54 win over Osseo-Fairchild.

Reese Sheehan, Hayward Co-op Hurricanes

Sheehan sits atop the points scored leaderboard on the Wisconsin Prep Hockey website, and helped her team to three wins last week on the ice. First in a 6-0 shutout of the Eau Claire Area Stars, Sheehan had four goals and assisted on one more. In a 3-2 win over the University School of Milwaukee, the sophomore had a solo goal. Sheehan finished the week with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Central Wisconsin Storm. Sheehan has recorded 14 goals and seven assists on the season for the Hurricanes.

Cole Uhlenbrauck, Saint Mary Catholic

The Saint Mary Catholic boys basketball team is 5-0 and was ranked third in the latest WSN Coaches Poll in Division 4. Uhlenbrauck has been a terror for opposing teams early on. Last week in a 91-76 win over Oostburg, the St. Norbert College commit had 30 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals. Uhlenbrauck then poured in a career high 36 points in an 83-72 win over Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah. The 6'5" guard made 12 of 28 threes and shot 59% from the field in the two victories.
