Janesville Parker junior JJ Douglas has been selected as the Hometown Ticketing Athlete of the Week for the week of December 5-11 after a statewide vote on WisSports.net.

There were 6,552 total votes this week. Douglas topped all vote getters with 2,611 votes. Hayward's Reese Sheehan came in second with 2,380 votes.

Janesville Parker is off to its best start in Big 8 Conference play in well over 20 years, going 3-1 early on, and Douglas has been the catalyst. Last week, the Vikings went 2-0 in conference play beginning with a 70-58 win over Madison Memorial. Douglas had 19 points, 15 rebounds and eight steals as Parker beat Memorial for the first time since 2006. Douglas, a highly touted football recruit, then had 24 points and an incredible 32 rebounds as Parker beat Sun Prairie East 59-50.

Through four games this season, Douglas is averaging 17 points per game on 56% shooting from the field. Most impressive, he is averaging 18 rebounds per game including the aforementioned 32 he had last week, which set a school record.
