Please note, divisional placement in our poll is based on our Enrollment Projections done earlier this year. Divisional placement in the WIAA playoffs is not determined until after the season and these projections can and will be different than the divisions at the end of the year.

In the Week 3 WisSports.net Division 1 Coaches Poll, Kimberly retains the number one position heading into a showdown on Friday night with winless Fond du Lac, the only team to beat the Papermakers last season. Mukwonago is up a couple spots to second, followed by Middleton and Muskego. Arrowhead lost to Kettle Moraine on Friday and dips from second to fifth. The bottom five in the poll remain the same as last week. 

Kettle Moraine solidified its spot atop Division 2 and in the conversation for best team regardless of division with a win over former second-ranked D1 squad Arrowhead on Friday night. Waunakee is second, followed again by Brookfield Central. River Falls went down to New Richmond, with the Wildcats dropping from fourth to tenth, one spot behind New Richmond, who is new this week. Also new is another Big Rivers squad, Menomonie, who debuts at number seven. Slinger and Sun Prairie East exit the rankings this week.

Port Washington leads in Division 3 once again, which saw quite a bit of stability in the top of the poll. The top seven is unchanged from a week ago actually. At the bottom of the rankings, Menasha and Rhinelander are new this week, with West Salem and Tomah both dropping out after losses. 

Catholic Memorial finally got its first win of the 2023 season, dominating Milwaukee Lutheran. It kept the Crusaders on top of Division 4, with Lodi, Ellsworth, Two Rivers, and Baldwin-Woodville rounding out the top five. Xavier hammered former #7 Freedom last week and the Hawks move in to #8 while the Irish drop out of the poll.

Columbus is the unanimous number one team in Division 5, as the Cardinals are unbeaten on the year. Prairie du Chien lost a one-point affair to Lancaster and fall from second to fourth. Wittenberg-Birnamwood moves into the rankings for the first time this season at number ten, with Amherst dropping out.

There were some top five changes in the Division 6 rankings this week, though Kenosha St. Joseph remains on top, narrowly ahead of Saint Mary's Springs. Stratford is third, with Mondovi jumping to fourth. Cedar Grove-Belgium tumbles from third to ninth after losing to Howards Grove. Lancaster is new this week after taking down Prairie du Chien.

The top five is unchanged this week in the Division 7 Coaches Poll, where Cashton has solidified its spot atop the rankings. Cambria-Friesland was knocked off by Lourdes Academy to open Trailways Conference play, with Cambria-Friesland falling from sixth to a tie for tenth, while Lourdes Academy enters the rankings at number nine. Potosi/Cassville lost a crossover to Darlington and falls a couple spot to a tie for tenth.

Continued shakeups in 8-player football this week, as Thorp's reign at number one only lasted one week. The Cardinals went down to McDonnell Central on Saturday, and drop from first to sixth. McDonnell Central makes a big jump from ninth to third, with Gilman taking over the top spot this week. Florence moves into the rankings after knocking off Newman Catholic, with the two-time defending champion Cardinals dropping completely out of the rankings this week. Oakfield is also new this week, tied with Siren for tenth.
