Week 8 WisSports.net Team of the Week Nominees

Edgar Wildcats

Edgar kept its shutout streak alive, downing previously unbeaten Auburndale 41-0 to clinch at least a share of the final Marawood Conference title. The Wildcats are yet to allow a point in conference play this year, outscoring opponents 245-0. They've allowed just 14 points all season. Edgar racked up 541 yards of offense in this one, including 423 yards on the ground. Karter Butt led the way with 156 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, while Kohlbe Weisenberger added 131 yards and two scores on eight attempts.

Grantsburg Pirates

Grantsburg took control of the Lakeland Conference with a 53-8 win over Hurley in a showdown of teams previously unbeaten in league play. The win keeps Grantsburg undefeated overall this year and in good shape for a strong playoff run. 12 different Grantsburg rushers combined for 477 yards on the ground, led by 179 yards from Gavin Rossow and 150 yards by Trenton Johnson, who also caught a pair of touchdown passes from Brock Matheny.

Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts

It was one of the biggest wins in school history, as Kaukauna took down defending Division 1 state champion and top-ranked Kimberly 14-13 in a barn-burner that saw all the points scored before halftime. Aiden Reardon scored on a six-yard touchdown in the second quarter and Finnley Doriot followed that up with a 79-yard scamper a short time later to put the Ghosts ahead 14-7. Kimberly added a touchdown before the half, but Kaukauna stopped the conversion run, which proved to be the difference in the game. Kaukauna's defense picked off Kimberly three times, and Doriot finished with 203 total yards of offense.

Neenah Rockets

Neenah clinched a playoff spot with a hard-earned 14-7 win over Fond du Lac on Friday night. Grant Dean accounted for both touchdowns, finishing with 41 carries for 210 yards and those two scores as the Rockets ran for 248 yards as a team. The victory moves Neenah to 4-2 in conference as they'll take on Oshkosh North to close out the regular season.

Pepin/Alma Eagles

Pepin/Alma raced out to a 47-6 halftime lead and cruised home for a 54-6 win over Cochrane-Fountain City to secure an outright Dairyland Conference title. Demetrius Bergmann ran for four touchdowns, all before halftime, and the Eagles saw ten different players record at least one rush attempt. Pepin/Alma limited Cochrane-Fountain City to just 31 rushing yards on 14 attempts and picked off a pair of passes.
