The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts have been selected as the Week 8 WSN Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored a big win over top-ranked Kimberly in the FVA. The Ghosts were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 8. A total of 5,673 votes were cast, as Kaukauna's 2,425 votes edged Pepin/Alma's 1,789 votes.

It was one of the biggest wins in school history, as Kaukauna took down defending Division 1 state champion and top-ranked Kimberly 14-13 in a barn-burner that saw all the points scored before halftime. Aiden Reardon scored on a six-yard touchdown in the second quarter and Finnley Doriot followed that up with a 79-yard scamper a short time later to put the Ghosts ahead 14-7. Kimberly added a touchdown before the half, but Kaukauna stopped the conversion run, which proved to be the difference in the game. Kaukauna's defense picked off Kimberly three times, and Doriot finished with 203 total yards of offense.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 9 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
