Below are the rSchoolToday Athlete of the Week Nominees for this week. Voting is open until Thursday at 2:00 pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Athlete of the Week Nominees: February 26 - March 3

Aubrey Dorn, McDonell Central

Dorn was exceptional as she helped lead McDonell Central back to the WIAA State Girls Basketball Tournament. The 6'0" senior filled the state sheet in the two sectional games, beginning in the 78-46 win over Phillips in the sectional semifinals. Dorn finished with 25 points on 11 of 14 shooting. She added eleven rebounds, eight assists, six steals, and one block. Dorn followed that up with 19 points and 19 rebounds in the 58-38 win over Fall Creek in the sectional finals. She was six of nine from the field and made all seven free throw attempts. McDonell moved up to Division 4 this season after making it to the State Tournament in Division 5 the pst three seasons.

Armani Fisher, St. Mary's Springs

Fisher scored four points over the two games as St. Mary's Springs skated to a WIAA Division 2 Boys Hockey State Championship. In a 2-1 semifinal victory over River Falls, the junior skater netted both goals for the Ledgers, one in each the second and third periods. Fisher followed up his two goal performance with a goal and an assist in the championship game in with the Ledgers won 6-2 over New Richmond. It is the Ledgers third state championship in five seasons.

Ceegan Rauls, Fall River

Rauls was the catalyst as he led the Fall River boys basketball team to a regional title this past week. As a six seed, the Pirates hosted just one of their three games, a 76-50 opening playoff win over Belmont. The senior lead guard finished the game with 16 points, 11 assists, five rebounds and four steals. He followed that up with 27 points, seven assists, seven rebounds, and a steal in an 80-68 victory over Shullsburg in the regional semis. Rauls finished off regional play with a game high 23 points in a 73-47 win over Barneveld in the regional finals. He added eleven rebounds, seven assists, and three steals, stuffing the stat sheet throughout the week and helping Fall River to a pair of away game wins.

Annika Rufenacht, Verona/Edgewood

Rufenacht three-peated as a state champion this past weekend at the WIAA Gymnastics State Meet. The senior gymnast won the individual title after finishing first in the vault competition, fifth in the bars, second in the beam, and tied for second in the floor. Her overall score of 37.9667 was just .2333 better than second place finisher Kaylee Stoeger of Franklin/Muskego. Rufenacth finished her prep gymnastic career with hir third straight Division 1 championship after winning as a junior and sophomore.

Tristan Wicklund, Central Wisconsin Storm (Mosinee)

Wicklund helped lead the Central Wisconsin Storm girls hockey team to a state championship this past weekend, defeating the defending champion De Pere co-op in the title game. In the 4-1 semi-final win over the Sun Prairie West co-op, the senior skater from Mosinee netted two goals on six shots, both via the power play. In the championship matchup with the De Pere co-op, Wicklund netted another two goals on just two shot attempts. Her first came in the third period on the power play and her second came in the third in the 4-3 tight victory. It is this co-op iteration's second title in three seasons.
