I got my start in sports: tee-ball and youth basketball.

I wish I could play: golf.

Baseball highlights: Two-time letterwinner … two-year starter … named team co-captain and moved to shortstop as a senior after playing second base as a junior … also started at pitcher … named to 2009 Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association all-state first team … Classic Eight Conference Player of Year and first-team selection as a senior … all-conference second-team selection as a junior.

2009 state tournament: reached base on a fielder s choice and scored game-winning run in 5-4 win over Marquette in state championship game … hit home run and scored three runs in 14-10 win over Muskego in state semifinals … winning pitcher in relief role in 6-4 win over West Bend West in 8 innings in state quarterfinals.

2009 stats: Batted .398 (47-for-118) with 30 runs scored, 11 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 36 RBI … drew nine walks and three hit-by-pitches … had 11 sacrifices … recorded .593 slugging percentage … pitching stats: 8-0 record and four saves with 0.63 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 55 2/3 innings ... made 12 appearances, including six starts, with five complete games.

2009 team stats: Finished 31-5 overall, 21-0 in Classic Eight Conference (champion) … won school s second summer state baseball title.

Other sports highlights: played guard in basketball as a freshman and sophomore … competed in 100 and 200 dashes in track and field as a freshman and sophomore … played spring baseball for Racine Hitters for two years.

I like playing baseball because: it s a team sport where everyone has to come together and anyone can be the hero.

Team bonding moment: our trips to Culver‘s after every win.

Baseball superstitions: Chris Pendergast and I would play ping pong before every game and jog down the foul lines together after every inning.

Andrew recorded the lowest ERA for an Arrowhead starting pitcher in head coach Tim O Driscoll s 35 years at the school.
