I got my start in sports: playing tee-ball at the YMCA when I was four years old. I also played youth soccer, golf and basketball.

I wish I could play: football; hockey.

Baseball highlights: Four-time letterwinner … four-year starter … co-captain as a senior … started at third base and singled in three at-bats in 2-1 loss to Franklin in 2009 WIAA Summer State quarterfinals … named Most Improved Player as a sophomore … started at third base, went 2-for-2 and was hit-by-pitch in 2007 summer state quarterfinals.

2009 stats: Batted .363 (41-for-113) with 28 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, five home runs and 36 RBI … drew 11 walks and four hit-by-pitches … has three sacrifices … recorded .438 on-base percentage and .593 slugging percentage … pitching stats: 1-0 record with 0.68 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings … defensive stats: 53 putouts, 51 assists.

2009 team stats: Finished 21-16 overall, 9-9 in North Shore Conference (fifth place) … advanced to WIAA Summer State quarterfinals

Other sports highlights : played golf and basketball as a freshman.

This and that: Member of High Honor Roll throughout high school … member of National Honor Society … member of Homestead Student-Athlete Leadership Team … served as a tee-ball coach the last few summers.

I like playing baseball because: of its tradition. It s America s pastime.

Team bonding moment: We had a 13-0 lead against Waukesha South and lost 16-13. Our coach, Ernie Millard, bought us ice cream during the long bus ride home. We turned it around after that and made it to the state tournament.

Baseball superstitions: I wear the same t-shirt for all away games and follow the same routine every time in the on-deck circle.
