I got my start in sports: playing machine pitch Little League baseball at Wilson Park when I was six years old. I also played youth basketball and golf.

I wish I could play: hockey

Baseball highlights: two-time letterwinner and starter … tossed a complete-game, two-hitter and struck out 11 in an 8-1 win over Wauwatosa East … led Marquette to 2009 WIAA Summer Baseball state runner-up honors … earned Greater Metro Conference North Division first-team honors as a senior … had three hits in championship game to lead Hilltoppers to 2008 state title … was 8-for-9 in state playoffs … earned Greater Metro Conference North Division first team honors as a junior.

2009 stats: Batted .382 (48-for-126) with 18 runs scored, 15 doubles, one triple and 31 RBI … 1-of-1 in stolen bases … recorded .466 on-base percentage … pitching stats: 4-4 record with 3.04 ERA in 18 appearances, including 10 starts, covering 64 2/3 innings with 68 strikeouts … tossed five complete games.

Other sports highlights: two-time letterwinner in basketball at guard, starting as a senior.

This and that: worked as volunteer coach at Jim Gantner s Baseball camp … volunteer at Ronald McDonald House … received Mitchell Group of Aviation scholarship.

I like playing baseball because: of the individual competition and how important your teammates are for you to win.

Team bonding moments: After was lost a game to Cudahy and had only two hits, we went to a teammate s house and shaved our heads … team parties after games we won … attended a Woodchucks Northwoods League game.

Superstitions: eat two peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches before each game and put right sock and cleat on and then the left sock and cleat.
