I got my start in sports: when I was four years old playing coach pitch baseball. I also played youth basketball and football.

I wish I could play: hockey.

Baseball highlights: Named 2009 Eastern Wisconsin Conference Player of Year and first-team all-conference at pitcher … also first team all-district selection … earned Eastern Wisconsin Conference second team honors at pitcher as a junior … two-time letterwinner and two-year starter as a pitcher and shortstop.

2009 stats: Batted .440 (40-for-91) with 25 runs scored, six doubles, four home runs and 28 RBI … 13-of-13 in stolen bases … recorded .514 on-base percentage … pitching stats: 11-1 record (only loss was in state quarterfinals)  with 1.11 ERA in 16 appearances, including 11 starts, covering 81 2/3 innings with 108 strikeouts … tossed nine complete games, including three shutouts and posted one save … recorded .979 fielding percentage at shortstop.

2009 team stats: Finished 23-5 overall, 15-3 in Eastern Wisconsin Conference (first place) … advanced to WIAA Summer State quarterfinals

Other sports honors: two-time letterwinner and two-year starter at wide receiver and safety in football … Eastern Wisconsin Conference Defensive Back of the year as a senior and a two-time all-conference first team pick at DB … earned honorable mention all-conference at wide receiver as a senior … three-time letterwinner and two-year starter at forward in basketball … competed in track and field as a freshman and was an alternate at state in the 3,200-meter relay.

I like playing baseball because: of the tradition of the game, its competitiveness and how much fun it is to play the game.

Team bonding moment: hanging out at coach s house after first sectional game.

Baseball superstitions: I wear a pair of lucky socks that are falling apart and always did stretching exercises with the same partner, Joey Nelson, every day.

Post-high school plans: attend Madison Area Technical College to study Liberal Arts and play baseball and then to attend a four-year college.
