Favorite subject: History

Position: center field

Other sports: football, basketball

I got my start in sports: playing soccer and tee-ball when I was four years old and watching my brother s games.

I wish I could play: hockey

Baseball highlights: starting center fielder past two seasons … team captain as a junior and helped lead Knights to North Shore Conference title and 26-7 overall record … earned 2009 unanimous first-team all-district and unanimous first team all-conference honors … as a sophomore, he earned second-team all-conference and honorable mention all-district and all-area honors.

2009 stats: No. 3 hitter in lineup … Batted .455 (40-for-88) with 53 runs scored, 20-of-22 stolen bases, 12 doubles, two triples, five home runs and 35 RBI … finished with a .656 on-base percentage … drew 33 walks … had five outfield assists.

Other sports highlights: played football for three years and started at quarterback as a junior … captain for freshman and JV football teams … played basketball as a freshman.

Academic honors: named to Honor Roll in five of six semesters to date.

I like playing baseball because: I love the game. You have to wait for the good moments and be ready to make a play.

Team bonding moment: We were picked to finish seventh in the conference and lost an early-season game to Homestead. But we rebounded and beat West Bend West 10-0 in six innings and that helped give us the confidence to win the title.

Baseball superstitions: I wore the same arm band every game. I also wore the same t-shirt under my jersey every game but I had it washed after each game.

Did you know? Brian was a member of 2006 Glendale Senior League 13-year old all-star team that won state title and advanced to regional tournament in Fort Wayne, Ind.
