I got my start in sports: playing tee-ball, soccer and basketball when I was four years old.

I wish I could play: golf.

Baseball highlights: four-year letterwinner and starter, James earned 2009 Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association first-team all-state honors at DH/Utility ... also earned all-district and all-North Shore Conference first team honors ... earned all-district, all-area and all-conference honors his junior season … played in 2008 Milwaukee Brewers Classic at Miller Park … picked up win in relief appearance.

2009 stats: batted .454 (44-for-97) with 37 runs scored, 15 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 41 RBI and 27-of-27 stolen bases … drew 32 walks and two hit by pitches with three sacrifice flies … .582 on-base percentage and .979 slugging percentage … pitching stats: 14 appearances with 11 starts, including three complete games, covering 63 1/3 innings … 7-3 record with four saves and 0.77 ERA … ratio of 129 strikeouts to 34 walks.

2009 team stats: finished 27-11 overall, 11-7 in North Shore Conference (third place) ... lost in WIAA State Summer sectional final.

Other sports highlights: three-time letterwinner and two-year starter in basketball at forward … co-captain as a senior … earned all-conference second-team honors as a senior … honorable mention all-conference as a junior.

Post-high school plans: Attend Boston College on a baseball scholarship to study marketing or sign a contract to play pro baseball … planning to make decision at end of high school season.

Outlook on life: "Whatever you put into something is what you get out of it."

 

Did you know? Kevin was drafted in the ninth round of the 2009 First-Year Free Agent Draft by Tampa Bay and played in the 2009 WBCA All-Star Classic June 26-27 in Oshkosh.
