Facing a 20-12 deficit in set two, Newman fought back to tie the game at 22 thanks to numerous hitting and communication errors on the McDonell side of the net. Once the momentum was lost, McDonell couldn't bring it back, as the Cardinals stormed to a three-point comeback win.

A refocused McDonell squad started set three on a 6-0 run before a kill from senior Middle Hitter Kaitlyn Ford finally broke the ice for Newman. Those bunches were few and far between though as the Macks were too solid.

The Macks continued to pour it on in set four as they raced to a 10-5 lead. Zumbrock may be 5'3" but she can sure elevate from the Outside Hitter position. Three straight aces from Newman's Ford gave the Cardinals some momentum, but a Krejci kill put an end to the spurt.
