Here is the first ever feature called "Above The Net".  It will cover 2 players from a school each week to showcase their sports lives, and their lives outside of sports.  Included will be a photo and their answers to the survey.  Enjoy!  

 

This week's profiles are Madison East Boys Volleyball players, Senior Middle Hitter Steve Horn, and Junior Libero Bradley Fraser.  Next week's boy's players will be Seniors Danny Jonas and Dan Simon from Waukesha West.  Stay tuned.

School: Madison East

Year: Junior

Favorite subject: Gym

Position: Libero

Other sports: Hockey and Baseball

I got my start in Volleyball: "Coach Cleveland got me to play when he took the job at East last year."

I wish I could play: Lacrosse

Volleyball highlights: This was Brad s first year of volleyball in 2008, and he was the only Sophomore to garnish All-Conference votes in the Big 8 Conference.  He led the team and Big 8 in Digs during his Sophomore season.

2009 team stats: Lost in the first round of the WIAA Playoffs to Waukesha West.  The team was in a serious rebuilding season, with 5 brand new players/starters.

Other sports highlights: Played Varsity hockey since his freshmen year, and got moved up for baseball during his sophomore year to Varsity. 

I like playing Volleyball because: "Because it s fun and I get to be with my friends."

I wish I could play: Tennis

Volleyball highlights: Played first year of volleyball in 2008 on the Varsity team.  Tallied 59 blocks to finish 5^th in the Big 8 Conference. Also finished 2^nd on the team in Kills at the Middle Position.  Team Captain for the 2009 Season.

Other sports highlights: Played on the 5^th ranked basketball team in Wisconsin.  Won the Purgolder Holiday Tournament, and the Regional Finals.
