Dear Wisconsin Coach:

The students of Civic Engagement, a class at Kaukauna High School in Kaukauna, Wisconsin would like to ask for your support throughout this upcoming basketball season in funding research to find a cure for childhood cancer through our fundraiser, Shooting for a Cure.

Civic Engagement is a class in which students organize projects in order to better our community. Thus far, we have successfully completed a donation drive for troops in Afghanistan, as well as a similar drive that provided winter wear and school supplies for elementary students in our community. We are currently in the midst of creating a $70,000 memorial for war veterans of the Fox Cities area and a 40 acre park that will be available for people throughout our community to use.

We are asking all varsity boys and girls basketball coaches and team supporters in the state of Wisconsin to contribute to this cause. On each team s Parent s Night, we would like a donation bucket going around and announcements being made to help promote this cause (See attachments of the itinerary for the day of). If every team participates, we could make a big difference for this organization and for Childhood Cancer Research as a whole. At the end of the regular season, when all team s have had their parent s night and participated in this fundraiser, we will ask for a check with the given amount of money your team collected.  Once we have received the money from each team, a check will be donated to CureSearch, the National Childhood Cancer Foundation, in the name of Michael Ederer, a former Kaukauna High School Student who lost his battle to Childhood Cancer .

We would like to thank you for taking time to read this e-mail. Your help and support of our cause is very much appreciated, while our class strives to make a difference for this foundation.  We want to ensure you that this is a real project, and although we may be just a group of students, we believe that with your help we could positively influence many people. Please consider participating in this fundraiser.

If you are interested in participating in Shooting for a Cure please e-mail us at shooting4acure@aol.com.  Also, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at the e-mail above or 920-766-6113 ext. 5924, or visit the CureSearch website at http://www.curesearch.org/.

Sincerely,

The Students of Civic Engagement
