Favorite Sport: “Basketball. I think basketball has the best combination of mental and physical challenges. It’s a big team sport compared to the more individual sports of track and field and golf.”

Best Part of High School Sports: “I’d have to say getting to meet people. I’ve made tons of friends through sports. I’ve gotten to know a lot of people I would never have met without sports. I’ve made friendships I will be able to hold on to for a long time.”

Most Memorable Moment in High School Sports: “A moment I’ll always remember was my freshman year before my first varsity basketball game. My coach came up to me and told me I was going to play for the varsity team. I remember going into my first game and going up for a rebound right after I got in during our game against Richland Center. That’s something I’ll always remember.”

Best Advice Received from High School Coach: “Our JV basketball coach who also helps with football and baseball is Ernie Betts. His quote that I’ve heard him say many times is ‘The more you do, the more you can do.’ I’m able to handle four sports in part because of his comments and his encouragement.”

Best Part of Playing Four Sports: “It’s nice doing all the different sports because it gives you a lot of things to work on. If you concentrate on one thing, I think you can get burned out. Having so many different things going, you don’t need to do the same thing all the time. One sport helps out in another sport. Whatever you are doing, you are training for another sport as well.”

Toughest Part of Playing Four Sports: “The physical toll it takes on your body after a full year. I still feel things from the football season. It’s continual so you never really get a break. It’s great and it keeps you busy, but it can also take a toll on your body.”
