The Wisconsin Boys Volleyball Coaches Association named its Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and All-State teams this week. Here is the release from Thursday.

Player of the Year: Trevor Novotny, Sr., OH, Catholic Memorial

Trevor Novotny, a senior outside hitter from Catholic Memorial, has been named 2011 Boys Volleyball Player of the Year in voting done by Wisconsin’s boys’ volleyball coaches. Trevor has been a starter since his freshman year and has led Catholic Memorial to four straight Classic Eight conference titles, going 7-0 in the conference in 2011. Trevor earned state Player of the Year honors in 2010, Classic Eight Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011, 1st team all-conference his sophomore year, and honorable mention his freshman year. Trevor has had another strong season this year, leading Catholic Memorial in kills with 435 and an off the charts hitting percentage of .522, and also leads in aces with 81. Trevor has not only dominated at the state level but also at the national level.  In 2010, he received the MVP award for his age group at the National Club Tournament where his team won the championship. Trevor will be continuing his volleyball career at Loyola University Chicago in the fall.
