Jamall Taylor of Dominican boys basketball has been selected as the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of January 9th through the 15th following a statewide vote on WisSports.net.  Taylor was phenomenal  for the Knights as he dropped 44 points in two wins last week. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees; Taylor received 505 votes, or 41.8% of the total votes cast, with only Hayward's Hannah Dvorak as the closest nominee with 314 votes (26%)

The Knights are 7-1 on the season and currently sit at #1 in the WisSports.net/WBCA Coaches Poll. Last Thursday Domincan traveled to Jackson, WI and took care of the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves 88-35, with Taylor leading all scorers with 21 points. They then traveled to LaCrosse over the weekend to take part in the second annual Midwest Players Classic where the Knights faced off with Minnesota powerhouse St. Paul Johnson.  Though Domincan was paced by junior Duane Wilson's 14 points in the first quarter, it was Taylor who finished with a game-high 23 points.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Army National Guard Athlete of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the next week's nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
