WSN Basketball Senior Awards

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards presented by Taco Bell.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament.

WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards -- Wing Finalists:

Sam Dekker, Sheboygan Lutheran - A long, skilled wing player who can score from downtown as well as make mid-range jump shots, Dekker leads the state in scoring at 31.7 points per game. He has increased his athleticism this year and is able to finish above the rim. Dekker scored 58 points in a win over Random Lake back in February and has led the Crusaders to a Central Lakeshore title and sectional semi-final berth.

Wally Ellenson, Rice Lake - Ellenson has long been known as an explosive athlete, able to dazzle the crowd with specatcular dunks in transition. His improved ball skills and shooting ability have allowed him to blossom as a senior, leading Rice Lake to a 23-1 record, Big Rivers title, and appearance in Thursday's sectional semi-final against D2's top-ranked Onalaska. Ellenson averages better than 21 points per game for head coach Kevin Orr.
Jordan Fouse, Racine St. Catherine's - Dynamic wing player who can handle the ball, locate open teammates with outstanding passes, make mid-range jump shots, rebound and get to the foul line. He's one of the best stat-sheet stuffers in Wisconsin and has led the Angels to a share of the Midwest Classic-South title and a sectional semi-final appearance after averaging 17.2 points per ballgame.

Tanner Plomb, East Troy - East Troy has been one of the most dominant teams in the state this year, with Plomb leading the charge. A long and highly skilled wing player who can knock down shots from mid-range or from beyond the three-point arc, he will likely repeat Player of the Year in the Rock Valley-North after averaging 19.5 points per game for the Trojans.

J.P. Tokoto, Menomonee Falls - An explosive wing forward who can get to the basket and finish above the rim, Tokoto finished the year averaging 24.6 points per game, good for fourth in the state. He continues to work hard to improve perimeter jump shot. Moves well laterally and rebounds well. Tokoto has elite length and explosiveness.
