Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards presented by Taco Bell.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament.

WSN Senior Girls Basketball Awards -- Shooter Finalists:

Kelsey Collins, Richland Center - Collins has been huge all year in helping the Hornets to yet another SWC conference title and a 21-3 record heading into sectional semi-final play tonight. While she certainly can take the ball off the dribble to get into the lane and finish, she is a deadly markswoman from outside, connecting on 45 of 93 three-point attempts this year for a 48.4% shooting percentage. She also makes 80.3% of her free throws on the way to averaging 16.1 points per game for head coach Steve Board.

Mehryn Kraker, West Allis Central - Kraker averaged 19.3 points per game for the Bulldogs this season, and did considerable damage from behind the arc. She connected on 52 three-pointers this year as one of the state's top sharpshooters. She also made 78 of 117 free throws, good for a 67% shooting percentage from the line.

Katie Doell, Fox Valley Lutheran - Doell has been an outstanding floor leader for the Foxes this year and does most of her scoring damage from the outside. She attempted twice as many three-pointers as two-point field goals, connecting on 42 of 103 shots behind the arc for a 41% shooting percentage.

Taylor VanderPlas, Ripon - VanderPlas had a very good all-around season for the Tigers, but was especially dangerous from outisde. In 24 games this year she knocked down 52 three-pointers for head coach Jason Wickstrom. She is also an outstanding free throw shooter, going 77 of 98 (79%) from the charity stripe.
Taylor Varsho, Marshfield - Varsho averages 19 points per game for head coach Heidi Michaelis as the Tigers have advanced to the sectional semi-finals this evening. She's been one of the state's top outside shooters for several years, and that's continued this season. In 12 conference games she connected on 29 of 77 three-pointers (37.7%).
