Athlete of the Week Sept. 24-30: Maggie Smith, Catholic Central
Maggie Smith of Catholic Central girls volleyball has been selected as the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of September 24 through 30th following a statewide vote on WisSports.net.
There were a total of 3944 votes, Smith finished with 1428 while Freedom's Liz Bloy finished second in the voting with 1365.
Catholic Central (25-6, 6-1) won their own inviational on Saturday. Smith lead the Lady Toppers to the title while collecting 35 kills, 33 digs and six aces. She also had 13 kills, 12 digs and three aces in a win over Dominican last week.
Remember, the only way your favorite player can be named Army National Guard Athlete of the Week is to vote and spread the word. Look for next week's nominees to be posted on Sunday evening.
