The Team of the Week is back again for 2012. The voting this year is upgraded and is featured at the bottom of the article. Voting is open until Thursday at 4 p.m., so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Boyceville -- The Bulldogs were still alive for a playoff spot heading into Week 8, but faced the tough task of having to beat previously undefeated Elk Mound in order to qualify for the postseason. They did just that, shutting out the Mounders 12-0 to claim an unexpected playoff berth. In addition to stout team defense, running back Zachary Klassen played a big role by rushing for 175 yards and a touchdown.

Edgerton -- The Tiders came into Week 8 at 2-4 in conference play, thinking they were already eliminated from the playoffs. They wanted to go out on a high note however, and knock McFarland out of the Rock Valley-North title picture. Playing with nothing to lose, they knocked off the Spartans 27-13 behind a balanced team effort. They finished the season 3-4 in conference and 4-4 overall, and went ahead and scheduled a Week 9 "plus one" game against Richland Center. Little did they know that a few hours later, the WIAA would announce that they would be one of four teams under .500 in conference play to make the playoff field for the first time ever. The Tiders travel to Manitowoc for a Level 1 playoff game against Roncalli on Friday.

Green Bay Southwest -- Southwest earned the FRCC title without a doubt, going through a gauntlet at the end of the year to finish off an 8-0 campaign. After shutting out Green Bay Preble 33-0 in a Week 7 battle of unbeatens, the Trojans squared off with another undefeated team in Week 8 when they hosted Bay Port. Head coach Bryce Paup's squad was up for the challenge, breaking open a 7-7 tie in the fourth quarter with a pair of touchdowns as they hung on for a 21-13 victory.

Hudson -- For the fifth straight year the Raiders knocked off Big Rivers rival Menomonie, doing so in dominating fashion with a 34-7 victory that secured an outright conference title and unbeaten regular season. A 20-point second quarter blew open the game for Hudson, who held Menomonie to -53 yards rushing when you factor in sack yardage. Meanwhile Hudson rolled up 342 yards on the ground on 63 carries. Dan Loughney and Michael Hommes each cracked the 100-yard mark and combined for three scores.

Monroe -- The Cheesemakers knew that their Week 8 match-up with Stoughton was a winner-take-all battle where the victor likely made the playoffs while the loser stayed home. In a tight game, Monroe made enough plays to get the job done, claiming a 14-9 win and the program's first playoff berth since 2003. Trent Wyssbrod went for 125 yards and both Cheesemaker scores.
