Attention high school and summer team coaches.  The WBCA is looking for nominations for Seniors-to-be (class of 2014) for a team that we will be taking to Indianapolis this summer for the National High School Coaches Association’s Rising Senior Event in July.  

The event will feature one team from each participating state.  The teams will be placed into pool play and then tournament format.  While the tournament takes place in a “dead” period for college recruiting they already have commitments from several recruiting services to cover the event.  

Secondly, and most importantly, the event will also have an educational component that will have a strong leadership focus.  This will include classroom sessions, speakers and workshops.

The minimum requirements for nomination are the following:

- Boys Player (they hope to add a girls event in the future)
- 2.6 GPA or higher
- Interest in playing basketball at the college level
- Willingness/Ability to play in the event

The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association, as a member of the NHSBCA and the sponsoring organization of the Wisconsin squad, will be taking care of travel, lodging and food expenses for the student-athletes selected.

Tentative Schedule:

Practice in Milwaukee, Travel to Indianapolis:  July 14th (Sunday)

NHSBCA Rising Senior Event:  July 15th, 16th & 17th (Monday through Wednesday)

Return to Milwaukee: July 17th

Please fill out and complete the nomination form by Tuesday, April 23rd.  We will contact those that made the team and publish the complete team on WisBCA.org once we receive confirmation that they are willing to play.

You must be a varsity head coach or a club/summer team head coach to nominate a player.
