Kenosha Bradford's Kevin Tibor has been selected as the top senior Pitcher as part of the WSN Senior Baseball Awards.

Tibor was a big part of teams that made back-to-back WIAA Division 1 state tournament appearances the last two years and claimed outright Southeast Conference championships both seasons as well.

As a junior Tibor earned Third Team All-State recognition from the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association and could be in line for more honors in 2013.

He finished his senior campaign with 66 innings in the weather-shortened season, allowing just 14 earned runs for a sparkling 1.48 ERA to finish with an 8-3 record. He pitched 9 complete games in his 11 starts, including a pair of shutouts. Along the way he struck out 91 batters. While his final game didn't go as planned in a 4-2 loss to Stevens Point in the state quarterfinals, he still was outstanding, allowing just 1 earned run in 7 innings.

Tibor set a new school record for career wins at Bradford this season, finishing his career with 21 victories on the mound. He was also outstanding at the plate, hitting .405 with 26 RBI.

The 6-1 righty will head to UW-Milwaukee on a baseball scholarship next season.

Finalists for the award were Tibor, Colyn Buss of Wisconsin Dells, Ryan Frieder of Bay Port, Mason Mergener of Coleman, and Garett Phillips of Elk Mound.
