Athlete of the Week Nominees, Dec. 30-Jan. 5

Below are the WSN Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of December 30 through January 5. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Matt Anderson, Fall Creek boys basketball, scored a game-high 28 points and added 15 rebounds in the Crickets 68-61 six-overtime win over Colfax. Anderson played all 56 minutes and tallied 8 points in the sixth overtime to lead Fall Creek to the victory. 

Allazia Blockton, Dominican girls basketball, finished with 40 points to lead the Knights past previously undefeated Racine St. Catherine's, 57-50. Blockton went 16-for-18 from the free throw line in the win. 

Jordan Carey, Middleton boys hockey, finished with 2 goals and an assist in the Cardinals 5-2 win over Onalaska who entered the game with an 9-1 record. Middleton improved to 6-4-1 with the victory. 

Luke Murphy, River Falls boys basketball, scored 30 points, including making the game-winning three as time expired to lead the Wildcats past Onalaska, 53-52. 

Courtney Wittig, Bay Area girls hockey, scored the go-ahead goal in the Ice Bears, ranked #4, win over #2 University School, 2-1. Bay Area took over first place in the Eastern Shores Conference with the victory and moved up to No. 2 in the Wisconsin Prep Hockey Coaches Poll.
